About Jaye

Hey! I’m Jaye, the creator and founder behind JayESims and JayESims Media.

I’m a designer, storyteller, and builder at heart. The kind of person who sees a gap in gameplay and immediately thinks, “Okay… but what if we made it feel real?” That mindset is exactly how JayESims was born: out of a love for The Sims, a passion for community, and a drive to create mods that add depth, emotion, realism, and culture to every save.

Over the years, I’ve released 150+ projects across traits, careers, social packs, mood packs, and full-blown gameplay systems all built to help you tell better stories and make your Sims feel more alive. I’m also the former co-host of Tea with Monique Samuels (yes, Real Housewives of Potomac Monique), which sharpened my voice, my confidence, and my ability to bring conversation, personality, and real-life energy into everything I create.

What JayESims stands for

JayESims is more than mods. It’s a creative universe where storytelling comes first. Whether you play wholesome, messy, dramatic, realistic, or full-on cinematic. My goal is to give you tools that make your Sims act like people, not dolls.

My mission

To build high-quality, immersive, easy-to-use mods that:

  • add real emotion and meaningful choices,

  • enhance realism without killing the fun,

  • support storytellers and everyday players,

  • and keep the community inspired, seen, and entertained.

My impact

JayESims has grown into a brand powered by a strong, supportive community. People who use these mods to escape, cope, laugh, heal, and create. That means everything to me. I don’t take it lightly that something I made can become part of someone’s daily routine, their comfort, or their creative outlet.

How I Run The Sims 4 (and My Mods) From an External Drive Without Breaking My Game

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how I run my Sims 4 setup off an external drive, so I’m finally putting it all in one place. This is exactly what I do, what I’ve learned the hard way, and how to keep it stable so you’re not losing saves or wondering why your mods “disappeared.” Quick note: there are TWO different things people mix up: 1) The Sims 4 game install (the actual game files) 2) Your Sims 4 user folder (Mods, Saves, Tray, screenshots, settings) Most mod problems come from #2.  that’s the “Documents” folder the game always looks for. —————————————————————————— WHY I RUN SIMS OFF AN EXTERNAL DRIVE —————————————————————————— • Keeps my main drive from getting eaten alive by CC/mods • Makes it easier to back up saves + Tray • Keeps my setup portable (plug in and I’m basically home) • Helps performance if your main drive is tight on space (low storage can make everything feel slower) Real talk though: the drive matters. An external SSD on a fast USB port is a totally...

Here Comes Jaye!

I’ve been wanting a space like this for a minute. Somewhere that isn’t just “here’s a link, bye.” This is my spot to post my thoughts, my feelings, what I’m working on, what I’m learning, and what’s really going on behind the scenes with the mods. Sometimes it’ll be updates. Sometimes it’ll be real talk. Sometimes it’ll be me putting you on to other mods I’m loving. But it’s always going to be my way.  honest, direct, and actually connected. If you’ve been rocking with JayESims for a while, you already know I care about depth. Not just in gameplay, but in community too. I’m a content creator and a modder, yeah but I’m also a person who wants to feel close to the people who support what I’m building. I don’t want y’all to just download and dip. I want this to feel like a place you can come back to, check in, and be part of the world we’re building together. So this blog is for: Mod breakdowns (the “why I made it” + how to use it) Patch-day updates and what’s working ...
